Android blocks installs from outside the Play Store by default. When prompted, allow installs from your browser, then open the downloaded file. This build is signed with the same key as the Play release, so a later Play update will install over it cleanly.

Coming to the App Store. Apple does not permit installing apps from a website, so there is no equivalent direct download — that is a platform rule, not an oversight. In the meantime the web app installs to the home screen from Safari and behaves almost identically.

There is no feature held back for the apps. The web version installs as a progressive web app on any device and shares the same account.
